Assess Changes Before Assuming a Failure
Noise alone does not identify a defective part. Changes in running pattern, water level and discharge behavior provide context for an assessment. A repair recommendation should follow the condition found rather than a guess based on sound.

Describe the Noise With the Operating Pattern
A sound during startup, pumping or shutdown gives useful context, especially if the water level or cycle has changed too. Share those observations without reaching into the pit or repeatedly forcing the pump to run. Noise by itself does not establish that the motor has worn out.
The discharge lift, piping and related components affect water removal along with the unit. If the level is rising despite operation, report that active condition so the assessment addresses performance as well as the sound.
